Although we are in the midst of this awful pandemic, we still need to move on as best we can and try to live a normal life. Many have direly asked, “Is this the ‘new’ normal?”. Well, for now maybe. But we will overcome this battle as well. Let’s start living again.

By following with the standard health precautions wearing masks, sanitizing et al, we can still live life to the fullest and go on with our lives. We need that right now. Am I right?
Why Is a Capsule Wardrobe Beneficial
Creating a capsule wardrobe is not only beneficial for the working person but for anyone struggling with the clothes they have built up in their closet that has no function. Whether you are working, running a few errands, a stay-at-home-mom, or going away for the weekend or a few weeks. A capsule wardrobe is so beneficial. It keeps organized and punctual.

Do you often stand at your closet door in the morning or dare to step inside and look at the clothes you have and think “I have nothing to wear”. You are probably feeling let down and discouraged. You most likely have beautiful pieces. You just don’t know how to implement a simple technique in putting those pieces together to create a capsule wardrobe.

I didn’ realize how important it is to have and follow a capsule wardrobe. I had clothes in my closet but there was no way I could define it as a “wardrobe”. Having a “wardrobe” was too fancy a term to use. But I can finally say, “I have a wardrobe”. Now, the clothes I have in my closet (wardrobe) go together. I am happy with how I have created my very own capsule wardrobe.

Just In Case
You’re thinking it’s better to take everything “just in case”. How’s this scenario: “I have to take those tops and maybe these sweaters, those long pants and maybe a coat and just in case . . . “ Do you often think like this? This is exactly the way I think.
“just in case” . . . my favorite 3 little words when I travel that always bite me in the (a–). No matter if we are traveling to Europe to see my in-laws or up north several hours trip to visit my parents. It was always the same way of thinking. We always took way too much.

My mom always jokingly commented, “Are you staying the month?”. In actual fact, we just went up for the weekend. And then we had all the kids’ extra “equipment”. I laugh when I just think of how we must have looked like unpacking the car. We looked like we were moving in. Lol !!
Keep It Simple
My clothes position felt a little like this scenario. I had way too much I was hanging on to. I kept buying without a purpose most times. I liked what I saw and I bought it. If only I knew then what I know now, I could have saved myself hundreds maybe even thousands of dollars.

A capsule wardrobe is so simple and fun. You just need to know you only need a few staple items in your collection. I go into detail in my latest article.

From there you add a few pieces to it that suit your style. A capsule wardrobe is for anybody and everybody, any body shape or size.
The Weekend
How fun! You are getting away from it all. Haven’t done that in a while. Hope to soon. Just getting away for the weekend is something to look forward to. So keeping with the happy theme doesn’t let your packing a weekend bag turn into a two suitcase frenzy.

What To Pack
So, for a weekend getaway what should you pack. Assuming it’s for approximately 3 days, you would travel in a cool top and perhaps shorts or Capri leggings or yoga pants. You want to be comfortable.
When you get to your destination, you might want to do some sight-seeing. You don’t have to change. Freshen up a little and you are ready to go. You can by all means bring another top to change into.

For dinner, you might want to pack away a comfortable summer dress. Preferably one that doesn’t wrinkle that bad. If that’s possible lol. You could wear the same sandals you had during the day.
For the next day, depends on what your plans are. Perhaps another Capri and blouse duo or maybe you prefer mini skirts. If it gets cool, bring along a little cover like a sweater or light blazer. You could get away with the flip flops/sandals you had the day before or a tennis shoe.

For the evening, perhaps a maxi or midi skirt and dressier blouse and the sweater you had during the day in case it gets cool. For shoes, you could get away with the sandal from the day, or perhaps you might want to change that for a little bit of a heeled sandal.
