This is a community where you can feel comfortable to be true to yourself. It’s a community I created to help empower women to fulfill their passions and desires in life. I want to make you believe that you still have something to accomplish, more to learn and give.
Whether you have already reached midlife or you are close to it, I want you to embrace life and realize that this is just the beginning. We have so much more to do. Most of us have children who have either fled the coup, close to finishing school or still have young ones at home. It’s all good. Let’s welcome diversity.
Myself: I have two older teens. A handsome young man of 20 almost 21 and a beautiful girl of 17. Sometimes I think it would get easier as they grow older where I would have more time to myself but they are still a lot of maintenance . . . lol !!
I always thought I would marry young like my mother did at 18 and had me when she was 20. But no such luck. I married at 32. What can I say? Can’t change that. It is what it is. And I am absolutely fine with that.
I did a lot of traveling and spending time with friends before I met my Mr. Wonderful. I hope to do a lot of traveling with my husband as soon as our children are grown.
I do have a lot of travel and photography tips to share. Also, from financing to lifestyle tips to family-related issues dealing with older teens/young adults.
WHAT BROUGHT ME TO TODAY?
I loved reading and learning new things. I had a passion for photography from a very early age and I loved to travel. When I was a young girl, I thought I might even be a flight attendant someday. Well, I became an Accounts Manager for a big company. But I still love to travel.
My love for photography never died. As a matter of fact, when I turned 50, I forged ahead into the photography world learning everything I could about the field. After hours of workshops and tutorials and many hours of reading and studying, I became a Maternity/Newborn Photographer with a little Wedding Photography, as a side hustle job.
I could never give up my day job as it is still too important to me. I have to say I love what I do. But I love other things as well. And that’s ok for now. We will see what the future holds.
So now, my life has brought me to this blog called Sly’s The Limit where I have the opportunity to teach others the skills I learned and things I have experienced in life. If anything, to prove to other midlifers that anything is possible. You have so much to give. Embrace life, go after your dreams. This is your time to make a difference in the world. Let’s do this.
