Even though it may be hard for you to find time to actually exercise, you need to know that by working out, you will reduce your stress levels and will definitely enjoy life more. In case you would really like to start working out but just can’t figure out how and when here are 5 great ways to get exercise into your busy schedule.
1. Choosing Something Over Nothing
Many people believe that a workout only counts if it’s at least half an hour long. However, even several minutes a day can make a huge difference for both your mind and body. No matter how busy your schedule is, you can always find 7-10 minutes for a workout.
Even though the duration of this type of workout is not ideal, doing at least a few exercises daily is much better than not doing any.
2. Make Exercising A Priority
No matter the length of your workout, you need to make it a priority. Just like you would never skip a meal, you should never skip a workout as well. The best way to make sure you exercise every day is to determine a certain time at which you must do your daily workout routine.
You should also do your homework on why exercising is important, as it will make you more likely to commit to exercising after you find out about the numerous health benefits that come from physical activity.
3. Find Someone Else To Exercise With You
It can be quite discouraging to see that all of your colleagues going to grab a beer after finishing work, while you are just getting ready to start exercising. This is why it’s a great idea to find someone that will exercise with you. Try convincing one of your colleagues to come to your office during lunch break and to do a quick workout with you.
Exercising with someone else will keep you motivated and more interested in taking part in physical activity. To make them even more fun, try making workouts competitive (challenge each other to see who can do the most reps of a certain exercise). This will make both of you more motivated to push yourselves to the limit.
4. Know What Exercises You Like And Dislike
A lot of people really hate running, but constantly end up doing it. If you’re extremely busy, then you should only do exercises that you like. If you don’t like yoga, do weight training (or whatever you prefer).
When you are trying to do an exercise that you’re not fond of, it will feel like a chore, which is definitely not the mindset you want to have when you’re trying to work out despite your extremely busy schedule. If you aren’t exactly sure which exercises you do and don’t like, experiment with different forms of exercise until you find the perfect workout routine for you.
5. Try Doing High-Intensity Interval Training
If you’re up for the challenge, you should definitely try doing some high-intensity interval training (HIIT) exercises. HIIT is challenging, but it will help you become stronger and build your endurance in no time. Not to mention that it will also help you burn a lot of calories, thus keeping you fit.
